About Maxim Home Inspections

Hi, I’m Justin Birtwell, owner and sole inspector at Maxim Home Inspections in Connecticut.

My background is a little different: I grew up managing commercial properties with my dad, earned a civil engineering degree, designed subdivisions and commercial sites, then spent years renovating and managing investment properties myself. I’ve replaced rotted floors at 2 a.m. and learned every expensive shortcut the hard way.

Before becoming a home inspector I helped my wife start and operate a very successful small business in Monroe CT.  After 12 years  I decided to take those skills and  build and operate something of my own.

That rare mix—entrepreneurship, engineering training, hands-on rehab experience, and property-owner perspective—now drives every inspection I perform.

Credentials:

• CT-licensed Home Inspector

• InterNACHI & CAHI member

• FAA-licensed drone pilot

• Certified thermographer

• Spark-certified solar PV inspector (one of only a handful in the state who can properly evaluate residential solar systems)

I still answer my own phone, work evenings and weekends, and treat every home like it’s my own money on the line.
